You know…this is the kind of groove and feel that makes pregnant mothers go into labor early. I mean you have Scofield the baddest bebop/soul/funk guitarist with his odd timing, Bill Stewart is so sick he sounds like he is playing notes…and Steve Swallow is showing bass players that how you hold down the low end…
@DrummerInExile Good luck with that, dude. NOBODY plays like Wayne Krantz except Wayne Krantz. Seriously. There are a ton of incredible guitarists out there, with their own thing to say, and Wayne is certainly one of them—unique, remarkable.
If you like Wayne, you might also enjoy Pete McCann- he’s a great NYC player. I’m partial to Kurt Rosenwinkel myself, especially as a composer.
The Scho man is a revolutionary. He slaps mainstream music in the face and dares to redefine all genres that pigeonhole what is “normal” in the world of music. I saw this guy at the 2009 Jazzfest in NOLA; what a fucking show! I missed out on a lot of great playing over the years, but not anymore.
yeah trully great musician!
happy to seen him in Java jazz jakarta

is there something wrong with the sound? is anyone else having the problem where the guitar sound is crackly?
nope, fine to me.
that’s sco’s sound. he uses distortion, and the bridge pickup.
Oh thanks, I’ve heard his other stuff but this one sounds like one of those “dubbed over” joke vids.
bill stewart is so dirty
Professionals.
Lol, especially being able to keep focused when that feed-backs randomly happening – check out bill stewarts reaction at 2.45 …’WTF’ lol
even his voice has mad effects.
“bad.”
Well said.

Yeah, fantastic trio but I think Steve Swallow is the most underrated bassist on the planet. I’m about to have a green tea and a nice toke.
